WHECO Houston’s customer was faced with the prospect of having to purchase new booms for their three excavators, as the bottom plates had been damaged while being used with thumb attachments. The cost of a new replacement for the excavator booms would have been in the region of $180,000. WHECO offered an engineered repair solution to return the sections to like-new condition. The work was completed within six weeks and the customer saved a considerable amount compared to what it would have cost to purchase new.
