WHECO provided an IROAN—Inspect & Repair Only as Necessary—to a Link-Belt HTC8670 hydraulic truck crane. For a small crane rental company, its 70-ton Link-Belt crane was the bread and butter of its rental fleet, and needed some work to keep it productive. WHECO suggested an IROAN, which is based on an inspection of the machine, service-record review, and an interview with the customer outlining their specific needs and requirements. In other words, WHECO worked with the customer to develop a scope of work to repair only what was necessary to return the crane to the revenue stream.

These photos depict the before and after of this project, which included undercarriage reconditioning, repairs to the wiring harness and collector ring, hydraulic cylinder rebuilds, minor body work, and new paint and decals.

Maybe your crane needs to be caught up on those long overdue maintenance items, updated with a new Tier III–IV emission-compliant engine and LMI system, or maybe it’s time to replace all of the worn-down parts and freshen up the paint.

WHECO can revitalize your used crane through its IROAN or Service Life Extension Project (SLEP). These programs will extend the revenue-generating life of your crane at an economical cost that you help control, versus the cost of a new unit.

Call WHECO today to discuss the benefits of an IROAN or SLEP for your crane.
